My Approach
I approach therapy from a human- first and relational perspective, prioritizing connection, safety, and understanding in every session. Therapy with me is a collaborative process, tailored to your unique needs, goals, and comfort level.

Art Therapy

Art therapy can look similar to traditional talk therapy, but it offers a creative and experiential way to explore thoughts, emotions, and goals. A typical session involves guided artmaking in the presence of a credentialed Art Therapist who has the clinical training to help you navigate your needs safely and effectively.

One of the most common concerns I hear when introducing art therapy is about artistic ability or talent. You do not need any previous experience or skill in art—no drawing, painting, or “pretty” images are required. The focus isn’t on the aesthetic outcome, but on the process of creating and what it reveals about your experience. The artwork becomes a tool to promote insight, reflection, and therapeutic growth.

As your therapist, I do not judge your artwork. Instead, I may ask open-ended questions about visual content or symbolism to help deepen understanding and support your goals. In this space, the emphasis is on exploration, self-expression, and healing, rather than producing a “perfect” piece of art.

Mental Health Counseling
In addition to being a Board-Certified Art Therapist, I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida. This means that traditional talk therapy and verbal processing are also part of my scope of practice. In a typical session, I may combine talk therapy techniques with art therapy, depending on your preferences and individual needs.

Verbal processing becomes especially useful when reflecting on your artwork, exploring insights, and discussing progress. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where both creative expression and conversation can work together to support your growth, healing, and self-understanding.
Why Choose Flow State Art Therapy & Counseling LLC?
If talk therapy has ever felt difficult or intimidating, art therapy offers a unique, non-verbal way to explore your experiences—sometimes expressing what words cannot. When language feels impossible, the creative process gives voice to your emotions and internal struggles. Once rapport is established, I will gently challenge you through a strengths-based approach, helping you see things differently and explore new ways of thinking when patterns become harmful to your well-being. I believe everyone has internal strengths that can be harnessed to overcome adversity and create meaningful change.

Your feelings are valid, and your authentic self is always welcome here. Your wellness is my priority, and my goal is to empower you throughout this journey toward growth, insight, and healing.
